Case Details
56 year old woman with a history of left breast cancer who had undergone a left mastectomy in 2002. Her left breast was reconstructed with a DIEP flap and an implant. She also had a breast implant on the right side for symmetry. Unfortunately, both implant capsules became contracted and the left implant began elevating up her chest (as seen in the photo). A revision reconstruction was performed to remove the tight capsules, replace the implants, and improve both the feel and the look of the reconstruction. Following surgery, both breasts were soft and had improved symmetry.
